Consume Cloud HCM's Atom feed in real-time

Has anyone got OIC Publish-Subscribe pattern working for atom feed

I understand how we can poll atom server using a scheduled OIC integration periodically to check for latest published entries since last run. However, I am working on a use case that requires real time processing - process an event as soon as it is published to atom server. Can Publish-Subscribe patterns in OIC be used to automatically poll/fetch events on atom server? If yes, do you have any documentation/blog depicting publish integration on OIC to consume Atom feed?
