Document Management System (EDMS) HR Records

Looking to use HCM's own document of records as our EDMS for personnel files

Our HR department is looking at CartaHR (www.accesscorp.com/software-for-document-management/carta-hr/) as a possible EDMS for HR personnel records.

However, seeing as 70+% of the documents we would be looking to 'digitize' and be part of the content of this system,  ALREADY exist in HCM (Labor code notice, application, resume, background check.......are in ORC, for example), we are looking to see if HCM's own documents of record could double-up as our Employee Document Management System/Personnel files.

Has anyone else tried that? Did it fit the needs of HR?
