Managers have a requirement to view absences across their organisation

Summary

Managers have requested the ability to view absences of employees across their organisation

Content

I was wondering if any other organisations have had this same requirement. 

We have some teams where the employees ultimately report to the same manager, but the lower level managers want to view the absences for employees in other teams to aid with their own scheduling as there are occasions where team members on one team can cover for those on another.

I checked to see if there were any ERs but couldn't find anything.
