When you synchronize with CRM, you lose many standard functionalities in CRM and must do heavy customization to use custom address DCL in many places, like Opportunities, Leads, Activities, Service Requests...
I'm from CRM side and I've been working together with three different ERP consulting companies and they all have this kind of setttings when it comes to Brazilian companies hierarchy. They all use sites for the children, because this is a Brazilian tax/fiscal/legal requirement from Receita Federal (same as IRS).
