connecting an a data base to an instance

Hello community, I have an issue. I am preparing for an oracle interview and I have to find a way to make two web servers on two different availability domains have access to media files share media content and also serve media files. 

Note: These web servers are connected to a load balancer and need to 

1. Be capable of serving media objects 

2. Be configure a way to synchronize the media content between the two web servers. 

An idea that comes to my mind is to add a DB to the instances through a private subnet,  but I do not know if it is the right solution nor how to implement it.
