Combine reporting on Incentive Compensation attainment, participant details, and plan assignments

Looking for help with ideal subject areas and tips/tricks to report on three areas simultaneously: achievement, participant details, and plan assignments.  I've tried starting with Performance Earnings and Summary Real Time, or with Earning and Attainment Summary.  The difficulty comes in when I try to combine any two subject areas containing participant details and plan assignments, and especially comparing or filtering dates between the two subject areas.  Common error is "no fact table exists at the requested level of detail".  Is there a magic set of subject areas that works, or a tip for what columns to bring in to
