Update Depreciation Reserve without impacting YTD Depreciation

We understand that the only way to update Depreciation Reserve for an asset that has been added in the previous months is to use unplanned depreciation. Unplanned depreciation is over and above the depreciation calculated monthly and it would create a journal dr expense and cr reserve.

However, the unplanned depreciation will also update YTD Depreciation along with Depreciation Reserve, but we don't want to update YTD Depreciation. We only want to update Depreciation Reserve in FA module to match GL Balances because we have passed some adjustment journals in the previous. Please advise if there is a way to achieve this.
