Sharing entities in alternative and within the same hierarchies | Can we share parent entities or no

We are required to create alternative entity hierarchies as well as sharing entities within the same hierarchy as it changes over time. We have intercompany eliminations and utilising the consolidation methods etc.

I believe that sharing parent entities, at some point, was not allowed as it has an impact on the elimination (I think it relates to enhancement list in this post https://cloudcustomerconnect.oracle.com/posts/08bb77a35e). I tried to work out if this is still applicable and researched this as much as possible within the available documentation and it is not, from what I can see, clear if this is now resolve or which entity members can be shared.
