Why are Requisitions Lines with same Description Combining on the PO?

Req lines are combining on the PO but amount is not aggregating

Use Case: We created a requisition with 2 lines.

Both lines have the same description part number, but a different distribution combination and receipt schedule. 

Issue: When the PO was created, the 2 requisitions lines combined into one line but the line amounts did not aggregate and is incorrect. 

Ex.

Req Line 1, $300, Part 1234, Description: Widgets, coding 0001-2222-7899

Req Line 2, $200, Part 1234, Descriptions Widgets, coding 0001-5555-9871

Req Line 1 + Req Line 2 = PO Line 1 is $300 (PO is taking amount from Req Line 1 only), PO Header amount is also $300

Any ideas why this happening?
