Different Merit month per employee in OOTB workforce

Summary: Merit should apply based on joining month

In one of our projects, the requirement is to have increment/merit based on employee's joining month. When I entered Merit month per employee, I noticed that it gets replaced with default month in Assumptions form while calculating basic salary.

This seems to be a generic scenario. Is there a solution to achieve this in out-of-the-box workforce solution?
