Is there a way to derive the lot expiration number from another item

Summary:

From a manufacturing process using two work orders, we need the expiration date for the manufactured lot from the first WO to be derived into the manufactured lot of the second WO

We are currently working for a client that has its manufacturing process split into two work orders.

• The first one is like a first step that produces a semi-finished product from an item structure.
• The second one is a packaging step that produces a finished produced from an item structure that uses the semi-finished produced previously.

Both of the products manufactured from those two kind of work orders are lot controlled, and we would like this lot number to be the same.
