Best approach for moving Entities to new parents in hierarchy?

Hi everyone,

If we move Entities in the hierarchy (from one parent to another), is it a requirement to reconsolidate history to ensure balances going forward consolidate/calculate correctly in the new parent? In this case, we may be okay reconsolidating history, but it may also be the case where we do not want to.

Is there a best practice/method for a situation such as this? Any thoughts on the best way to go about doing this?
