migrating new application version from one environment to other issue

Summary:

When I'm trying to import new version of application from DEV to PROD environment it is not allowing me to import with same application ID instead it is creating new application id and name. What I have to do?

I don't want to create a new application with new application ID rather it must comes as 1.1 version if 1.0 version is already available

expectation is that if 1.0 version is available then when i import 1.1 version then it must be imported
