Release Sequence Rule for Shipping Priority

How does the Shipping Priority gets into play in the Release Sequence Rule?

The Shipment Priority is one of the options creating the sequence rule. There are two options, Ascending and Descending. In the setup Oracle ships LOW MEDIUM and HIGH. How is this ordered? If I like to use the HIGH priority fist and LOW last, what do I chose and what does oracle use to sort.

The documentation says "For example, if you select the ascending order for the Scheduled date criterion, then the picking lines with the earliest scheduled date are released first."

It's easy with the date, but in this case if they are ordered alphabetically, then H-L-M will be ordered. Is there another lookup or setup I'm missing about shipment priorities?
