AppUi development approach clarifications

We have few clarifications regarding the AppUi development using SaaS provisioned VB Studio.

As we understand SaaS provisioned VB Studio is for xxxx-test POD and can not be created for dev POD.

Since our test POD is being used as a UAT environment we can not develop applications on that POD. We need to start development much before.

So we created a new Environment for our devPOD using the credentials. The challenges are,

1. When we created a workspace with dev environment the Page Designer does not work.

2. If we stick to test environment for UI development we can not switch the API's to point to dev.
