Is there a means of mass-deleting waitlisted people from an offering?

Summary:

A custom notification is setup so that once people are removed from a waitlist (after the offering date comes and goes), they are informed they have been removed from the waitlist. The admins are currently manually removing people one by one, and have come across an offering with 41 people against the waitlist.

Content (required):

After an offering has completed, admins go in and change people's status from Waitlisted to Deleted.

A custom notification fires to let the person know they were unsuccesful, and to check back for future offerings and/or register interest.

This process is manual - you can't select multiple people and go to Change Status, Delete Assignment, as the option greys out. There are no delete options under 'Mass Actions'.
