Messaging in Sub Learning plans vs. learning plans

Summary

When one sub learning plan is tied to many learning plans how to minimize the messaging going out to the user

Content

OKay,  Here is an interesting one that I hope someone has thought through.

We have a course that will be assigned to multiple learning plans (over 40)  We do not want an email to go out to a person more than once even though they could be in many if not all of the 40 learning plans.  How do you get this to work?

I thought maybe you have the 40 master learning plans but you turn off the messaging on all of them.  You then put the course in its own "Sub" learning plan and turn on the messaging for that one learning plan.   The question is,  if you do that and assign that sub learning plan to all 40 master learning plans,  does the messaging only go out once since the sub learning plan only has the messaging on or does it still send out 40 emails because the person is put into the sub learning plan 40 times from the 40

Howdy, Stranger!
