Payment Increase : Contigent and Non Contigent

If a lease is subjected with Payment Increase and later if we are doing an amendment then I see we can mark the amendment either as Contigent Increase / Non Contigent Increase. But I don't see the difference between these two options. I believe, Contogent increase comes into picture when the liability is dependent on another factor and should not be part of ROU and LL and where as Non Contignet increase should be a part of ROU and LL. I tried to mark Payment Increase as Contigent and I don't see the revised amount as Contignet in Payment
