Why does it sometimes take time before changes show on consolidated levels?

Summary:

Time lag between when base data is changed followed by an consolidation/translation and when the changed data show in forms/reports

Content (required):We have now quite a few times experienced that after changing some data and running a consolidation/translation that it does not show up on consolidated level immediately.

But then after e.g. an hour or so suddenly data is updated on the consolidated level when refreshing a form or a report.

 Could there be some kind of caching issue going on here where data on the “webserver” is only updated periodically and if yes, is there a way to change the caching frequency or clear out cached data?
