LinkedIn Learning and Catalog Defaults

Summary:

When importing the LinkedIn content, the content will inherit the Default Catalog Access, which includes the learner and manager self-service settings.

We are currently implementing and planning to go-live in July. Our default catalog access will be set that the learner and manager self-service settings will be ‘Requested’, requiring approval, and then we will override this for self-paced offerings on Offering level to make it ‘Active’ for no approval.

If we set the default catalog access for learner and manager self-service to ‘Active’ during the initial configuration, then import all the LinkedIn content, all LinkedIn courses will inherit the ‘Active’ access. But if we change this back to ‘Requested’ after the import, will the initial ‘Active’ access remain permanently? and will it be changed when new updates are sent through from LinkedIn?

Howdy, Stranger!
