Regarding Same part number for a completely different item in 2 different orgs.

Please let me know if you have implemented something similar:

Can we segregate item masters by Org/BU? My customer would like to create multiple item masters. I have an item that has one part number in org #1. I have the same part number for a completely different item in org #2.

Can we keep them separate (by BU) and keep the same part number(s) for different products?

Will this kind of setup allow for items to be accessed by downstrem applications like Planning, Inventory, Order Management etc?
