Odd behavior when requiring request description (new feature in June update)

Summary:

In testing out the new ability to require a request description from a user, I noticed that if you type text in the description field, then delete that text, it still uses the previously deleted text. As a result, the request can be submitted even though nothing shows in the description field upon submission. Even if the user does not submit the request and instead clicks Done to save it as a draft, the old deleted text reappears in the description

Is this intended behavior? Aside from this, the feature works fine, but I found this behavior odd
