A very comprehensive Seniority Dates functionality was introduced in 17D (13.17.11). This is branded as Version 3 of the Seniority Dates functionality.
One of the key difference with this version of seniority dates is that you can enter only adjustments to seniority and not the revised seniority date itself. The revised seniority date is calculated by the application. Seniority date adjustments can only be entered once the seniority record has been created by the ESS job, post the hire date.
As a result of this, customers who want to enter these seniority dates for their future-dated hires/pending workers, have to wait until the actual hire date when the ESS picks up that employee for processing and creates a seniority record.
