Budgetary Control at the Task and Subtask Level

Summary:

Our team is looking to revamp the use of project task and subtasks within the financial plan hierarchy to manage project phases or subprojects. Our current configuration allows for budgeting at the task and subtask level; however, it appears that budgetary controls can only be set at the project or top resource level.

QUESTIONS:

  1. Is there a configuration option that allows for budgetary controls at the task or subtask level?
  2. If budgetary controls can only be set at the project or top resource level, can additional resource classes be defined? We are currently using a single budget/planning resource, Financial Resources. Is there a way to add additional resource classes under Setup and Maintenance > Project Financial Management > Project Foundation > Manage Planning and Billing Resource Breakdown Structures? In our development environments, the "+" icon to add additional resource classes in unavailable (grey).
