Mapping of Dimension Members between applications based on Alias to member?

Summary:

To my understanding, data can be pulled directly using DataExchange from Target Application.

We are looking for a way to transfer data between 2 EPM Planning Cloud instances with datamanagement/ data exchange. Most of the dimensions are very similar and change rarely. Problem: We have a product dimension where the member names differ between the 2 applications. (There is no standard logik to perform a mapping on the membernames (e.g. add prefix or remove some digits). This product dim changes on daily basis during the planning phase.

Considered solution: We would like to make the people of the source app responsible for maintaining the target memers as a 2nd alias. Does somebody have experience, if this can work?
