Can we send an email using a secondary email address?

Hello all

My client has an interesting case. Their contact records have two email addresses (let's call them primary and secondary). The contact record is set up so the primary email address is the unique identifier and the secondary is just a text field.

There are times when they want to send an email to the secondary email address rather than the primary email address . Normally, they would just switch the two email addresses using an update rule and then send the email, switching them back when it is done. This causes issues, like creating duplicates in Salesforce and the like.
