Performance impact for 60K items assigned to 650 inventory organizations

Summary:

We would appreciate any feedback / suggestions for inventory organization setup. We have to create 650 Inventory organizations and probably assign about 50K items to all inventory organizations. (32 Million). And in future we may be adding more items too. We would like to know if having these many items in EGP_SYSTEM_ITEM_B would cause issues with the performance of the application? We would like to know if this would also have impact on the many integrations we have built with external applications, reports, posting transactions, etc.

I have championed the concept of Definition Orgs and Reference Orgs, but need to understand with a strong facts that the above said setup may cause issues? or if it would be Ok to move ahead with setting up all 650 inventory organizations as Definition Organizations.
