What is the difference between Sales order, sales forecast measure and Booking History booking forecast measure in demand management?


While configuring custom table we found that there are measures available as 1) Sales Orders and Sales Forecast as well as booking history and Booking forecast. What is the difference between booking and sales values? should this be two and the source of these two should be Sales orders? or is there any difference? Also we saw that for sales orders and sales forecast measure the value is coming as blank.
