On a Nonshippable SO line, how is Fulfillment BU determined for SFO?

Summary:

We processed a Sales Order with a single Bill Only line on it with no Warehouse defined on the line. Invoicing this SO triggered a non-shippable SFO event but we are not sure why. Since no Warehouse was specified on the SO line, what would have tied the line to a different BU than the one specified on the SO Header as the Selling BU?

Content (required):

  • SO created with BU = "SPS". Only 1 line is on the SO, with no Warehouse specified. This line was processed as Bill Only
  • AR Invoice was created in "SPS" BU (as expected)
  • Nonshippable Sales SFO event with event type "Fulfillment Line Close". This flow is defined with Fulfillment BU = "HSC" and Selling BU = "SPS". Why? What would have tied the SO Line to "HSC" BU, with no Warehouse defined on the line?
