Is it possible to export the dimension by generations instead of parent child relation?

Summary:

Generally when we export data/metadata files, we get it in the Parent-child relationship format( in 2 different columns). We have a requirement of obtaining it in Generation format i. e. all child-parent in different columns( Gen1, Gen2, Gen3 and so on..).
