Need feedback on publishing SO lines using Generate Shipment Request and BIP report

Summary:

In order to publish SO lines to a WMS system, we can run Generate Shipment Request and then GET Shipment Lines which can be mapped to a WMS service and invoke it. In our case, the WMS system we are publishing SO lines to needs more data than what is available in the Shipment Lines API response. We are looking to understand from the community if anyone has implemented SO publish employing the below mechanism,

  • Run Generate Shipment Request using Pick Wave Release Rule in Oracle
  • publish the Pick wave batch ID to middleware
  • Middleware to call a BIP in Oracle using Pick Batch ID and get all the details from Oracle in one shot (eliminating the need to call multiple APIs like Shipment lines, Orderhub, Reservations, etc.)
