Can we create Item rules set to default Item EFF based on Category name selected

Summary:

We have a requirement to default a value in Item EFF using item rule based based on category name.

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

We want to create a item rule set as below

If Category name = "XYZ" then update ATTRIBUTE_CHAR1 to ABC

Is this achievable using item rule set.

Also if any one has done this can you send how rule was written.
