Dept of Ed targets end of January for 2024-25 ISIRs, Our Contingency Plan Suggestions

We wanted to make sure that the community was aware that the Department of Education published Update on the Simplified, Streamlined, Redesigned 2024-25 FAFSA (Updated Dec. 8, 2023) which covers their adjusted plan for when students can begin submitting FAFSA for the 2024-25 Award Year and when schools can expect to receive ISIRs.

  • Students and families will be able to complete and submit FAFSA forms online by Dec. 31. 
  • Schools will begin receiving aid eligibility information, including Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs), by the end of January 2024.

In prior years, students were able to submit FAFSAs for the new aid year on Oct 1st and schools are able to process their ISIRs and award their students much earlier. Due to the delay in the DOE timeline and the hinderance in providing awards to your incoming prospective and continuing students, we strongly recommend that contingencies are implemented to support your students.
