We encountered an issue where a non-standard dash was inadvertently entered into a Description field. This non-standard dash was exported and included in a data feed that was then sent to a TSO Host Mainframe dataset. The encoding translation of the non-standard dash to EBCDIC resulted in a 3-byte character string in the Host dataset, causing the ingestion of the file on the Host Mainframe to fail. We have no issues with the normal dashes.

We would like to know if there is a way to restrict unwanted special characters from being entered in EDMS input fields.
