Asset Management/Depreciation - Posting Additions & Disposals

I understand that you cannot have more than one period open for a given depreciation book. During our Interim closes, in December the period won't normally be closed until March or April. In June the period doesn't close until September or October. It has presented a problem for our Property Records/Asset Management department as they are not able to post anything relating to assets for 3-4 month until December/June is closed. Is there any work around that would allow our Property Records/Asset Management team to be able to input these assets before the period is closed?
