Can SAP R3 be Integrated with FCCS

Some of our subsidiaries are running on SAP R3 ERP. We would like to integrate FCCS with the SAP R3 instances using the Oracle SAP adapter, but unsure if the adapter is compatible with SAP R3. Per Oracle certification matrix, SAP ECC 6, EHP 6, 7, and 8 are compatible, but SAP R3 is not explicitly listed.

Can FCCS be integrated with SAP R3 ERP? If yes, are the configuration steps different than what's outlined in Oracle Cloud publication 'Using the SAP Adapter with Oracle Integration Generation 2'? If different, can supplemental documentation be provided for the SAP R3 integration?
