New Hire Job and Union Code validation

Has anyone created a jobcode - union code validation for the New Hire Process in Workforce? I found a blurb on this in Adventures in Groovy (a really good site) but thought I would check to see if anyone has done this.

When a user adds a new hire request - they will select the job but all unions are available. Only certain unions are associated with certain jobs. I tried Valid Intersections but since Union is not part of the WFP cube that didn't work.

I have a couple of other ideas I will also try - groovy is the ideal because it could stop them from adding an invalid combination.
