historicize account hierarchies

Hello All,

I'm analyzing the business requirement for a new FCC implementation. My customer now uses excel for consolidation and has the account hierarchy consisting of basic sap accounts of the trial balance.

So, the customer wants to create the trial balance accounts on the FCC account hierarchy (about 3k accounts).

In this scenario, it may happen that the account structure changes during the year and, i.e., an account moves his position whitin the hierarchy. Customer would mantain also the old hierarchy. Essentially it wants to historicize the data and metadata structures before the change and after the change of hierarchy position. Have you ever encountered this type of request? I thought about creating an account alternative hierarchy, to have both the situation. Do you have any other suggestions?
