Why unplanned depreciation would be reversed if asset cost changes in the next period?

in Assets 2 comments

Summary:

Hello,

We're trying to find a way to fulfill the requirement of one-time fully depreciation. I tried unplanned depreciation, but I found that once the cost got changed in following period (adding source line to the asset to increase the cost), the unplanned depreciation performed in previous period got reversed subsequently, causing depreciation adjustment in current period. We don't want the unplanned depreciation performed in the previous period got reversed by cost changing, is that possible?

Here's my operating steps:

1.Performed unplanned depreciation on an asset, and turned the NBV to 0, without checking the amortize check box. [Apr-24 period]

Howdy, Stranger!
