Option Classes & Option Items showing Indirect Sales Orders Demand as Parent Level Items in DM

Summary:

The Demand Plan is showing thousands of Option Classes and Option Items with Sales Orders demand which are indirect and looks to have been exploded from the top parent CTO model items. As a result the table views are showing a lot of unnecessary records for Option Classes and Option Items as parent or top level items themselves. Is this normal behaviour or a product issue?
