How to make asset category field at item master rule-based

Summary:

Aim is to make asset category field visible only for capex item. An additional field to be define at item master level. When it is selected as capex, only then asset category field will be editable. Otherwise, if it is opex, then asset category field should be greyed out. How this can achieved?
