Including validation in a DFF to only allow a value once

We would like to ensure our DFF only allows a value to be entered once. For example in our supplier site we have a 'Legacy Vendor Number' field. Each Supplier Site should receive a legacy value and this should be unique to each supplier site. We are facing an issue where user error may include the same legacy number twice.

Can DFF support unique values and when the user enters an existing value, it throws an error?
