Not able to add Assingee as Start/First Approver of entire task

Summary:

Hi,

Currently we have done Cost Center Manager based approvals for Purchase Orders. The Cost Center manager is at level 5, but when PO document submitted by Level 1 person

it is going for level 5 approval. We have suggested for Supervisory approvals but client has denied the approach.

The Cost center manager is ready to assign the task to the appropriate level of person, but when he is trying system is not allowing to add Assignee above his name, Add button is greyed out

. But he can add below his name. Kindly suggest what to do.
