OCI Gen3 - Is it possible to unzip .expx file

Summary:

Gen2 documentation mentions about unzipping .exp file for troubleshooting and apparently .exp extension works similar to .zip extension in context of zipping and unzipping.

But in Gen3 the Process Application metadata is exported as .expx file. This file is not getting unzipped using commonly used decompression tools like WinZip, 7-Zip etc. Is there a way to unzip .expx file and view its content? Or its a binary file with no option of viewing the content without importing the file into a Gen3 OPA instance.
