How can we have unmapped columns in Import Map Template?

While Creating an Import Map, we chose to not map few columns to Master Data. These unmapped columns are switched to Ignored status upon saving the Import Map and are not being populated in the Template. Is there a way to bring those columns to the Template by keeping them unmapped in the Import Map ?
