how does WMS determines allocation types

Summary:

Regardless of the wave type (order allocation, replenishment allocation, movement request allocation) the allocated inventory determines an Allocation Type. I would like to understand how this allocation type is determined in order to have a better understanding of how to address different scenarios, given that I will need to setup a task template associated to a task type that can actually create a task for a given allocation type.

Right now I'm trying to setup a Movement Request that only addresses Case or Unit Picking (not full LPN moves in this scenario). In my scenario I can have the same item in different movement requests with and different destination locations. My train of thought is to make a consolidated pick of such item, pass it through a drop zone, then someone will move the partials to the final destination location, and I'm trying to discern what is the best task type I need to try to implement, but I'd like to have a better understanding of how the Allocation
