Tax Estimation on Contract Invoices

When billing on a Project Contract, we are seeing that in Tax Regimes that we use Tax Classification Codes, we can use the "Calculate Tax" button from the Actions menu and we will see the Tax Amount populate at the top of the Draft Invoice.

However, we are using the Avalara tax integration for the US and when we click on "Calculate Tax", no tax is returned. Has anyone been able to successfully use a third party tax engine to get tax estimation returned on the draft invoice?

Note that we know the Avalara integration is working as the invoice does properly get tax calculated when it is imported to AR.
