Transfer material between staging subinventories

"From the time of receipt, many transactions may be required to record the movement of an item through the receiving and inspection process. For example, after being received, you can transfer, inspect, and then put away an item. You can keep track of an item since these transactions are linked together."

Could you please explain the above, is it possible to move material between staging (receiving) subinventories?

Requirement: After material is received into a receiving bay/dock. We have a requirement to track its movement to the inspection bay before it is putaway. Having the ability to transfer between staging subinventories (before the putaway) would be a great value add to my current client and many others, since this improves the material visibility within an Organization and provides flexibility on the inspection module.
