How to Import Items with Approval Status Set to "Draft"?

I am trying to import a new item request. This is an item with the approval status set to "Draft" and the lifecycle status as "Design."

I attempted to import it using the Item Import Template, with the lifecycle status set to "Design," the engineering item flag set to "Yes," and the item class configured to have the new item request active.

However, this test only imported the item to the item class with the lifecycle status set to "Design." The approval status, which is not present in the template, was automatically set to "Approved."

Can you help me import these items correctly?
