Member property values change when move a member from one parent to another parent

While moving a member manually from one parent to another member, the property values are changing as mentioned below ...

1. Member properties with default None values in the source parent are having BLANK values in the target parent.
2. All inherited properties are getting the target parent property values instead of the moved member property values from the source.

Request you to let us know the ... 
1. Default behavior in EDMC when moving a member from one parent to another parent.
2. How to keep member property values of source as is in the target without any change / inheritance?
